(The following description describes a unit of the “Sun Shade for Chairs” for application upon a standard wheelchair, for purpose of specificity in example. The “Sun Shade for Chairs” is in no way limited to the specifications of this one [1] description, however.)

The canopy of the “Sun Shade for Chairs” is made of a nylon taffeta material, measuring approximately twenty-eight and one-half inches in width by thirty-six inches in length (28 1/2” x 36”).

Two (2) sleeves are made of aluminum piping with
open ends, and measure approximately seven inches in
length by half-inch (1/2”) interior diameter. These
sleeves mount upon the rear wall of the seat frame of a
hosting wheelchair.

The canopy-hosting frame is made of aluminum piping of
half-inch (1/2”) exterior diameter.

The base portion of the frame consists of an elongated
U-format of approximate thirty-six (36”) length and with
horizontal width of approximately twenty-nine inches
(29”). This portion of the frame inserts within the
wheelchair-mounted sleeves. Its horizontal width is
encased within a looped hem upon the rearmost portion
of the canopy.

Attached to the vertical bars of this base portion, and at points approximately eighteen inches (18”)
below their topmost point by a swivel bracket, is a secondary U-bracket. This secondary U-bracket
has a width of approximately twenty-nine inches; its sidewalls are arced to form an approximate ninety-
degree (90º) radius with maximum extending length of thirty-six inches (36”). The horizontal width portion
of this U-bracket is encased within a looped hem within the foremost portion of the canopy.

Attached to the mid-length portion of the sidewalls of the secondary U-bracket by rotating screw is a
tertiary U-bracket, with approximate ten-inch length by twenty-nine inch width (10” x 29”). The horizontal
width of this tertiary bracket is encased within a fabric loop within the centermost point of the canopy.
