(Please note: Particular specifications in this Mechanical Description of the “Pill Organizer” are included solely in order to provide such description with as much specificity as possible, and the “Pill Organizer” is in no way restricted to such specificities.)
Mass production of this simple yet effectively designed product will be
relatively inexpensive and simple to accomplish using current production means and technology.
The storage container of the Pill Organizer is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and in the form of an octagonal cylinder that has an approximate five-inch (5”) height. Each of the eight (8) planes forming the hexagonal shape has a width of approximately two inches (2”). Within this storage container are eight (8) hollow cylindrical columns, each in alignment to one (1) of the eight (8) hexagonal planes. Each of these columns has a diameter of approximately one-and-one-half inches (1 ½”).
The top end of this base container is sealed by a translucent, removable lid made of a pliant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) material. The bottom end of each these columns features a cylindrical axle of angular plane extending to the bottom of the vertical walls. The bottom end of the storage container itself forms a circular cylinder of five-inch (5”) diameter for the bottom one inch (1”) of the structure.
The base frame of the Pill Organizer is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), and in a cylindrical format of an approximate two-inch height by six-inch diameter (2” x 6”), with an extending front shelf. The front shelf area is indented to form a dispensed pill collection area. The center of the base housing features a cylindrical indentation of an approximate five-inch (5”) diameter. A plate forming the floor of that indentation attaches to the base housing by tension springs.
At one (1) point within the interior wall of the cylindrical indentation, and directly below the spring-attached floor plate, is an axle of angular plane equal to those of the columns within the base container. This axle ends at the indented plane of the front shelf. Also included are adhesive labels, upon which users may note pill names and dosages, and for application upon the columns that host these medications, vitamins and/or supplements.
